In our series Portrait of a Muse, we put women in the spotlight who wear Donna Dorée jewelry in their own personal way.
In this edition, we spoke with Lisa Enik — Trauma Sexologist and Vitalogist® — about her work, recovery and inner strength, and the meaning of the Rhea and Gaia earrings in her life.
While the Rhea earrings were once a conscious choice of her own, the Gaia earrings came later as a loving gift from her husband.
A mission of awareness and recovery
Can you briefly tell us about your work as a Trauma Sexologist and Vitalogist®?
In my work, I am committed to raising awareness about what sexual trauma truly entails and the impact it can have on a person's life. Many people carry the consequences of sexual trauma with them without fully understanding where their feelings, patterns, or physical reactions come from.
An important first step in recovery can be daring to speak and share his or her story for the first time. Simply being heard and seen in that story can set something in motion and mark the beginning of healing.
The shape of the Rhea earrings reminded me of that inner strength that is present in every woman.
Sexual trauma can cause a disconnect between mind and body. Reactions and patterns that once helped one survive can later become hindering. In my work, I guide people to recognize and let go of these patterns step by step, so that the connection with their own body, feelings, and inner strength can be restored.
What drives me is the desire for women and men to experience safety within themselves once again. That they can take back control of their own lives and feel connected to their life energy again. From that renewed connection, space can be created for strength, gentleness, and growth.
The first encounter with our Rhea earrings
You once bought the Rhea earrings for yourself. Can you remember what you thought or felt when you saw them for the first time?
When I first saw the Rhea earrings, I immediately felt that the design had something special. The shape reminded me of an abstract female figure, elegant, powerful, and yet soft.
What struck me most was the combination of refinement and strength. They are slender and graceful, yet at the same time possess a distinct presence. To me, it felt as if they embodied a certain feminine energy. Perhaps that also appealed to me because my work revolves largely around reconnecting with your own power and taking your own place.
The shape of these earrings reminded me of that inner strength present in every woman, even when it has sometimes been pushed into the background by experiences or trauma.

A special gift from your husband, our Gaia earrings
Lisa once chose the Rhea earrings herself. Later, her story gained a new chapter when her husband gave her the Gaia earrings as a gift.
You received the Gaia earrings from your husband. Can you tell me something about that moment?
I received the Gaia earrings as a gift from my husband, and that made the moment extra special. It felt like a very loving gesture that he chose this particular piece of jewelry for me. To me, these earrings have a grounding and warm energy. The fact that he chose these specific ones for me felt like a beautiful acknowledgment of the woman I am. Not only in my work, but also in my personal life.
Recovering from sexual trauma is often a long road. A road that can feel lonely and in which you may sometimes feel that you always have to be stronger.
The Gaia earrings remind me of something else: that sometimes you are allowed to be gentle with yourself. That you are already doing so much and that you are essentially already enough.

The difference in energy between the Rhea and the Gaia earring
Do you feel a difference between the Rhea and Gaia earrings when you wear them?
For me, the Rhea and Gaia earrings indeed have a different energy.
The Rhea feels more powerful and expressive. I often wear it when I switch into action mode, for example during interviews, lectures, or when I am on stage. It reminds me of decisiveness and firmness, of daring to take my place and making my voice heard.
The Gaia actually feels softer and more connected to my inner peace. I like to wear it when the action is over and there is room for relaxation.
Together, they show me two important sides of femininity: the strength to step forward and create something, and the gentleness to return to rest and connection afterward.

Meaning of the earrings in work and private life
Do the earrings also help you when you are working?
When I wear the Rhea earrings during interviews or lectures, I literally feel myself standing a little straighter. It is as if they remind me of the power of my voice and my story.
In my work, I often speak about subjects that are deep and sometimes difficult. The earrings then give me a subtle reminder of the feminine power from which I work. They help me to stay present within myself and to share my message with confidence.
How does it feel to wear the earrings specifically in your private life?
In my private life, the earrings have a slightly different meaning. Then, it is less about my role as a professional and more about remembering who I am in essence. The path I have traveled in my life certainly had its challenges, but precisely because of them, I have become increasingly aware of my own strength and resilience.
When I wear the earrings, it sometimes feels like a small reminder of that process, that I am still standing and that everything I have been through has contributed to who I am today. For me, they also symbolize that true self-worth and self-confidence start from within.

Femininity and style
What does femininity mean to you today?
For me, femininity doesn't begin with how you look on the outside, but with how you feel on the inside. When you are connected with yourself — with your strength, your softness, and your own truth — that naturally radiates outwards.
For me, femininity today is primarily about authenticity and inner strength. About daring to be yourself and taking your place without constantly adapting to external expectations.
Over the years, my view of femininity has changed. Where it used to be perhaps more about appearances or certain norms, it is now much more about fully embracing yourself.
A piece of jewelry can sometimes be more than just something beautiful to wear. It can also be a symbol of connection with yourself.
What role do beauty and symbolism play in recovery processes?
In recovery processes, beauty, symbolism, and rituals often play a larger role than we might think. Many people I meet in my practice struggle with how they view themselves and carry a deep sense of shame. Recovery is therefore often also about slowly rediscovering yourself. Symbolism and rituals can help people gently reconnect with themselves.
Beauty can also play a role in this. That can be found in art, music, nature, or even in a piece of jewelry. Sometimes that can remind someone that value and light are still present.

A message to other women
What would you like to pass on to other women?
A piece of jewelry can sometimes be more than just something beautiful to wear. It can also be a symbol of connection with yourself. When you are in touch with who you truly are, with your strength, your boundaries, and your truth, your aura changes as well.
A piece of jewelry can remind you of that in a subtle way. Not to be something you are not, but to make visible what already lives within you.
For Lisa, the Rhea and Gaia earrings symbolize different aspects of femininity: strength, softness, elegance, and presence. Femininity does not have one form, but many layers. Perhaps this also reflects her own journey as a woman, a professional, and a human being: learning more and more to embrace those different sides of herself. And perhaps that is ultimately what everything keeps returning to: the connection with yourself.
