Which jewelry trends will be in style in 2027?
When you look at the jewelry trends for 2027, what stands out is how much room there is for jewelry with character.
We are seeing large and sculptural shapes, statement earrings, pearls and gemstones with more personality, vintage influences, and above all, plenty of freedom to combine different styles. But perhaps even more interesting is what is happening beneath the surface.
Jewelry seems to be less and less about simply following a trend. We collect. We combine. We wear something because we love it, because it suits us, or because there is a story behind it. And honestly, I find that a much more interesting development, because as far as I'm concerned, a good piece of jewelry doesn't just have to be in fashion. It needs to move you.
1. Sculptural jewelry is becoming wearable art
Some pieces of jewelry are almost like small sculptures, because the form is so strong that the piece tells a story all on its own. A striking curve, an unexpected proportion, or an organic shape. An earring that almost becomes a little work of art.
This shift toward more sculptural jewelry fits a broader trend in which jewelry is not just seen as an accessory, but increasingly as a form of personal expression. And this is exactly the kind of jewelry I have always had a soft spot for.
I love it when a piece of jewelry is not just beautiful, but makes you pause and take a look.
How was this made? Why does this shape have these specific proportions? Why does this work so well?
Those kinds of pieces remain interesting, even long after the trend has passed.
That is also the thinking behind my own collection Female Figures. Gaia, Rhea, and Circe were not designed as small decorations that happen to hang from your ear. They are small sculptures for the body, inspired by the female form and designed to be worn.
How do you wear sculptural jewelry?
Above all, give it space. A strong design does not need to be drowned out by ten other eye-catching accessories. For example, combine a large sculptural earring with a simple neckline or a minimalist outfit. Sometimes one great piece of jewelry is all you need.
2. Statement earrings are meant to be seen
I have good news for fans of earrings who have no intention of going unnoticed: the statement earring is here to stay.
Large earrings, bold shapes, volume, movement, and distinctive silhouettes remain a key direction in jewelry trends for 2027. But for me, a statement earring isn't necessarily about being as big as possible; it’s about presence.
An earring can be relatively small and still very expressive. Through its shape, its material, or the way it moves when you talk or walk. And perhaps that is exactly why earrings are such a beautiful piece of jewelry. They sit right next to your face, so they automatically get attention. They can completely transform a simple outfit.
A black dress. A white shirt. A nice blazer.
And then those earrings.
That can be enough.
How do you wear statement earrings?
My advice: choose one clear accent. When your earrings draw a lot of attention, the rest of your look can afford to be a bit quieter. That doesn't mean your outfit has to be boring. It just means you’re giving the eye a place to land.
3. Pearls, gemstones, and color are getting more character
Pearls have long moved past the image of being just your grandmother's classic pearl necklace. And thank goodness for that!
For 2027, I especially see room for pearls, gemstones, and color in a way that feels more personal and less predictable.
Pearls can be worn larger, more boldly, and less classically. Different layers of pearls can be combined, and a pearl can suddenly contrast beautifully with a much more modern or sculptural piece of jewelry.
The same goes for gemstones. Not just the perfect, symmetrical stone, but stones with color, character, and a certain individuality. You can actually combine those really coolly with other rings on your hand. I think that’s beautiful!
And a stone becomes interesting with inclusions, variations in color, and small imperfections.
That is often where the beauty lies, and the fact that a stone — and therefore the jewelry — is unique and special.
How do you wear color in your jewelry?
You don't need to suddenly purchase a fully colorful jewelry collection for that.
A single (larger) colored gemstone among gold jewelry can be enough. Or combine a classic pearl with a modern, sculptural design. It is precisely when you place something unexpected next to something classic that tension is created. And tension makes a combination interesting.
4. Vintage and neo-vintage: wearing the past again
Vintage jewelry remains interesting, but I think there is a difference between wearing something old and wearing something with history.
A piece of jewelry doesn't literally have to come from a specific era to have a vintage look. Designers and fashion labels are constantly reaching back into past shapes and styles and giving them a contemporary interpretation.
Think of Art Deco, 70s influences, distinctive brooches, and jewelry with a strong sense of heritage.
The brooch is also getting renewed attention. Personally, I think that is wonderful news, because a brooch is the kind of jewelry you can wear in many more ways than we sometimes think. Vintage or not. I actually have my own designer brooch, and I also occasionally source from our vintage collection.
You can wear them on a blazer, a sweater, a hat, or a shirt. Or somewhere no one would have thought of a hundred years ago. Be creative!
Because a vintage piece of jewelry has something you can't just design: a past.
Maybe it was worn by someone you will never know. Maybe it sat in a box for years. Maybe it was once given as a gift for a birthday, a wedding, or another important moment. And now it suddenly rests in your hand. Perhaps that is what I find most beautiful about vintage. A piece of jewelry doesn't have to be new to become special all over again.
What do you look for when buying vintage jewelry?
Not just the age. At Donna Dorée, I look at the design, the proportions, the material, the details, and the way something is made. But also at something that is harder to capture in a checklist: does it have character?
Because not every old piece of jewelry is automatically special. And not every special piece of jewelry is old. That is exactly why, in addition to vintage, I also like to look at jewelry with a vintage or neo-vintage look: designs that carry something from the past but are completely modern.

5. Mixing is the new matching
Gold with silver, vintage with modern, a delicate ring next to a large statement ring. A classic pearl with a sculptural earring.
Why should jewelry all have to match, anyway?
Jewelry styling is increasingly about individuality, collecting, and combinations that feel personal. Not everything has to come from the same collection or era.
And I personally get very happy about that! Because as far as I'm concerned, the most beautiful jewelry collection is not the one where everything fits together perfectly. It is the collection where you can see that someone has made choices.
That one little ring that’s been with you for years.
That vintage earring you found somewhere once.
A new piece of jewelry you fell in love with instantly.
And perhaps an heirloom you never take off.
Together they tell much more about you than a complete set that comes out of a store window all at once. Mixing is the new matching, because you decide what goes together.
Which jewelry trends suit you?
If you look at the trends for 2027 this way, you actually see one clear development: personality is becoming more important than perfection.
So you don't have to follow all the trends—preferably not, even! Maybe the sculptural trend appeals to you, but you don't like large earrings at all. Maybe you get happy from pearls and vintage jewelry. Or maybe you just like wearing gold and silver mixed together.
These are not rules, they are ideas. And I believe that is exactly how you should look at trends.
A trend can give you an idea. You suddenly see a certain shape, color, material, or combination and think: Hey, I like that. And perhaps you discover something new for yourself, but that doesn't mean you then have to adapt your entire jewelry collection to what is in fashion this season.
Wear that big statement earring if it makes you happy. Combine gold and silver because you love that combination. Take a vintage brooch out of the closet and wear it in a way no one would have thought of a hundred years ago.
A trend can inspire you, but you decide what you make of it!
Because ultimately, style is not about wearing everything that is currently popular.
It is about looking, discovering, collecting, and choosing.
